231 million workers exposed to heatwaves; 4200 lost their lives in 2020: ILO

Workers in Africa, the Arab states and Asia and the Pacific are most often exposed to excessive heat with 92.9%, 83.6% and 74.7% of the workforce in these regions getting affected, respectively. This is above the global average of 71%, the ILO said in its latest report on “Heat at work: Implications for safety and health” on Friday.
