Eighties popstar Karyn White has turned back time after a long hiatus from her Grammy-nominated music career.
Now aged 58, Karyn looks like she has barely aged since her rise to fame in the late 80s and early 90s.
The singer is best known for producing a string of hit singles, among them Superwoman, Secret Rendezvous and The Way You Love Me.
She was also behind the US Hot 100 number one single Romantic.
During the height of her stardom, she was nominated twice for the Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, as well as the American Music Award for Favorite Soul/R&B New Artist.
After her 1994 album Make Him Do Right, Karyn left her record label, Warner, and retired from the public eye to raise her family.
She described her break from the music industry as causing ‘a lot of hurt and pain.’
Last year, Kayrn told the Chicago Defender: ‘I like to tell my partner that God, he’ll restore the years.
‘When I was away from the [music] business, it was a lot of hurt and pain. But I feel like he restored that all when I went over to that country.’
‘Sometimes I say, “Why did I leave Karen? You should have stayed in the business.” So all of that is restored, because the love is like it was 1988. So, it’s just been a blessing.’
Some 18 years later, she returned to the spotlight with 2012 album Carpe Diem.
After taking another pause from music, Karyn is back on tour, including dates this summer in the US.
She will be performing at the Captial Jazz Fest in Columbia among other gigs.
Karyn married Terry Lewis in 1992 and together they had a daughter, Ashley Nicole, and adopted their son Brandon, before divorcing in 1999.
She was later married to producer/musician Bobby G for one year and then started a relationship with musician Al B. Sure! in 2012.
Outside of music, Karyn runs a successful interior design and real estate business.
Other stars who seem to be drinking from the fountain of youth include Vera Wang, who wowed on Baftas red carpet, 74, and supermodel Christie Brinkley, 70.
