Behemoth unveiled its development roadmap for its various games. As a way of making me, specifically, feel old, it has announced new DLC for 2008’s Castle Crashers, which will be the first since 2012 when they added the Pink Knight. That’s unless you count the Remastered update in 2015, which you might.

The new DLC is titled Painter Boss Paradise and will update the player and weapon artwork (which can be toggled on and off), as well as a new character called Paint Junior. On top of that (and, honestly, the main feature), the PC version will get Steam Workshop support for custom knights. The trailer shows off the creative process.

Looks rad. I wonder how many types of Batmans you’ll be able to download. If you ever wanted to have finite customization of your Knight’s mug, this is a pretty freeform way to do it. I can imagine a lot of great/horrifying stuff coming from this.

It’s staggering to me that Castle Crashers came out in 2008. I played it with roommates around its launch on the Xbox 360, and it became a favorite. I haven’t thought about it all that much since then, to be honest. Now that I think about it, I don’t know why. I love beat-’em-ups, and it’s a really solid take on the genre. Maybe I’ll pick it up again the moment I can play as Macho Man Randy Savage.

There’s no date for the Painter Boss Paradise. It’s coming to PC via Steam, but there’s no word if there will be a price attached or if it will eventually arrive on consoles.
