Céline Dion Emotionally Greets Fans in Head-to-Toe Dior amid Reports She's Performing at Paris 2024 Summer Olympics

The five-time Grammy winner engaged with her supporters as she poked her head out of a sunroof the day before the Games' opening ceremony

Céline Dion is being showered with love in Paris this week — and she's making sure its reciprocated.

On Thursday, July 25, the five-time Grammy winner, 56, was spotted emotionally interacting with fans while leaving the Royal Monceau Hotel in the French capital amid rumors she will perform during the Summer Olympics. The performance would mark Dion's return to the stage for the first time since announcing her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis in December 2022.

In photos from the outing, the music superstar exited the hotel in full Dior. Her outfit consisted of a matching sweater and pants featuring an all-over Dior Oblique motif, as well as some cozy white sneakers and a pair of black sunglasses.

Dion then walked over to her vehicle and stuck her upper body out of its sunroof, before interacting with her waiting fans. The musician appeared emotional as she was handed flowers, blew kisses and offered fist bumps.

Dion's appearance comes after Variety reported that she'll be performing at the Olympics in Paris, with TMZ also reporting that the "My Heart Will Go On" singer will earn $2 million for a one-song opening ceremony performance at the Games on Friday, July 26.

This wasn't Dion's first experience showing love to fans in Paris this week, as just a couple days before, she was photographed waving and signing autographs at the same hotel.

As for other recent outings, Dion read aloud the Montreal Canadiens’ fifth-round draft pick at the 2024 Upper Deck NHL Draft in Las Vegas on June 28. That same month, she also appeared at the New York City premiere of her Prime Video documentary, I Am: Céline Dion — a film in which she details her her experience with stiff-person syndrome and a desire to perform again.

When asked by Vogue France when she may perform live again in the future, Dion said in April that she "can't answer that."

"Because for four years I've been saying to myself that I'm not going back, that I'm ready, that I'm not ready," she said. "As things stand, I can't stand here and say to you: 'Yes, in four months.' I don't know ... My body will tell me. On the other hand, I don't just want to wait."

"It's morally hard to live from day to day. It's hard, I'm working very hard and tomorrow will be even harder," Dion added. "Tomorrow is another day. But there's one thing that will never stop, and that's the will. It's the passion. It's the dream. It's the determination."

Speaking with PEOPLE in June, Dion detailed how she has "a wonderful coach vocally" and that her treatment plan is "making such a difference."

"We're talking about putting a show together, and I have so many ideas. I can't wait," Dion said at the time.

"If I would have just stayed secretly behind, my home would have become a prison, and I would have become a prisoner of my own life," she added of raising awareness for SPF. "Today, I live one day at a time. The fact that I found the strength to communicate my condition with the world makes me very proud. Maybe my purpose in this life is to help others, and that is the greatest gift."
