Erica Ash, best known for her work on MADtv and Survivor's Remorse, has died. She was 46.
BET announced Ash’s death in a statement shared on Instagram, writing, “Today, #BETRemembers actress and comedienne Erica Ash who has passed away at the age of 46. Known for being equal parts witty and funny, Erica starred in BET favorites such as legal drama In Contempt and reality spoof Real Husbands of Hollywood.”
“We send our deepest condolences and love to her parents, siblings, friends, and family,” the statement continued alongside photos and videos of Ash. “Fly high Queen ????”

Ash’s cause of death and the date in which she died has not been made public.
Following the news of Ash’s death, stars paid tribute to the late comedian on social media.
Loni Love shared an emotional tribute to Ash on Instagram, sharing, "I am sad to confirm my friend and fellow actress Erica Ash's passing.... Erica was talented and hilarious whether it was the show Survivor's Remorse or Madtv she would put her all into her work.”
She continued, "She would always just be there.. now she's gone.. My sincere condolences to her family and fans ????????????????"
The tribute also included photos of Love and Ash over the years including Ash’s appearances on The Real, which Love co-hosted with Adrienne Bailon, Jeannie Mai and Garcelle Beauvais until the show ended in 2022.
Niecy Nash Betts remembered the last text she received from Ash before her death in her own social media tribute.
“Rest Well Pretty girl ????️❤️ @theericaash” she wrote alongside a photo of the pair. “Your last text to me was ‘I’m gonna make you my #wcw’ Then we had a good keke. You will be missed! Thank you for all the laughs! Sending my deepest condolences to your family & loved ones ❤️”
Mike Epps — who starred with Ash in Survivor’s Remorse — paid tribute to her on Instagram.
“RIP ERICA ???? gone to soon she was such a great person to work with full of life and funny and talent you left a great mark on earth ???? ????️????️????️” he wrote.
Ash rose to fame in the mid-2000s when she appeared on The Big Gay Sketch Show and MadTV.
She went on to star in Scary Movie 5 and BET’s The Real Househusbands of Hollywood with Kevin Hart before landing the role of Mary Charles “M-Chuck” Calloway on Starz’s Survivor’s Remorse.

From 2014 to 2017, she starred alongside Epps, Jessie T. Usher, Tichina Arnold, RonReaco Lee and on the Starz’s series. She also starred in BET’s In Contempt, BET+’s Sacrifice and Netflix’s We Have a Ghost.
On the big screen, she also appeared on Jean of the Joneses and Uncle Drew.
