The Switch is still going strong (Nintendo)

If you’re one of the few who hasn’t bought a Nintendo Switch yet, you can bag a console for free through Virgin Media.

Seven years after it launched in 2017, the Nintendo Switch is still doing well and already confirmed as one of the best-selling consoles of all-time.

Even with Nintendo’s next console on the horizon, the system’s strong line-up isn’t slowing down quite yet – with The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom, Super Mario Party Jamboree, and Mario + Luigi: Brothership all set to be released in 2024.

So, if you haven’t yet bagged a console, Virgin Media is giving them out for free to new customers who sign up for select bundles on an 18-month contract.

The cheapest bundle costs £59.99 a month, which gives you access to 204 TV channels, including various sport channels, along with M350 fibre broadband.

If you prefer movies over sports, there’s another package for £60.99, albeit with M125 fibre broadband which has reduced average download speeds (132Mbps instead of 362Mbps). For Sky Sports, Sky Cinema and M350 broadband, there’s a bundle which costs £64.99 a month.

The most expensive option costs £84.99 per month and offers over 230 channels, a Netflix plan, Gig 1 fibre broadband with speeds of 1,130Mbps, along with an unlimited O2 sim card for mobile, and a choice of subscription for Disney+, Amazon Prime, or others.

Anyone who subscribes to one of these bundles on an 18-month contract will receive a Nintendo Switch (the standard model, not the OLED) or £150 bill credit. Considering the Switch costs £259.99 though, you’re better off taking the plunge on the console.

You don’t have long to take up the offer though, as it runs from today (July 29) and lasts only a week until Monday August 5.

Over the past seven years, the Switch has racked up an impressive library – between Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, its sequel Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 3, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Super Mario Odyssey, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Bayonetta 3, and many others.

While the console is set for a strong rest of the year, many are now looking ahead to Nintendo’s next machine, which is set to be announced sometime before April 2025.
