As San Diego Comic-Con nears its end, we’re still reeling from the many surprises that the star-studded event in California has had to offer this year.
One of the biggest mic-drops came when it was revealed that Robert Downey Jr is officially returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Doom, after previously starring as the beloved Tony Stark, aka Iron Man.
Another huge moment happened during the cast panel for Captain America: Brave New World, when Anthony Mackie, who plays new Captain America Sam Wilson, was joined by his new co-star Harrison Ford on stage.
Harrison is set to portray politician Thaddeus Ross in the movie, who was previously played by the late William Hurt in the MCU.
Not only is Thaddeus Ross the newly-elected President of the United States in the upcoming blockbuster, but he ends up becoming the formidable Red Hulk.
Given the physical demands of playing Red Hulk – a comic book nemesis to the green Hulk that fans know and love – some were flabbergasted to learn that Star Wars and Indiana Jones legend Harrison is 82 years old.
What made his Comic-Con even more impressive is that after coming out on stage, he imitated Red Hulk with a huge, emphatic and energetic roar.
‘Bro is ripped,’ @PWBytes wrote on X, while Tyler remarked: ‘Can I just say for Harrison ford being 82 years old, he moves around great.’
Sharing a picture of the cinematic legend hulking out, Astle added: ‘Harrison Ford is a freakin legend ???? Man is 82 years old.’
Over on Instagram, fans were sent into a frenzy by the clip of Harrison walking out on stage with Anthony, 45.
‘I love Harrison Ford so much! He’s such treasure,’ wrote Michaela, as Micah added: ‘That man moves EXTREMELY well for 82.’
‘Indiana Red Hulk Jones,’ Agung also quipped, while J simply stated: ‘Marvel is back yall????.’
During Comic-Con in San Diego, Harrison spoke about keeping his role as Red Hulk a secret, having previously pretended that he had no idea who the character was.
‘Yes, I did know, and I thought it was a fabulous secret to keep,’ he told Entertainment Weekly.
‘Unfortunately, the secret’s out of the bag. But what I do not know is what the Red Hulks do, which is very interesting to me.’
