Many of the newest weapons in Destiny 2 tend to take the spotlight. The newer Rocket-Assisted Sidearms like the Aberrant Action and The Call tend to take much of the limelight, but that doesn't mean other weapons are outright bad.
Quite the opposite, in fact, as some of the older weapons are still very desired. One such weapon takes a bit of effort to farm but can be quite fun to use. Here's how to get the Commemoration in Destiny 2.
The Commemoration machine gun is a possible drop from the final encounter of the Deep Stone Crypt raid, when fighting Taniks, The Abomination. This gives you three chances each week to get the Commemoration, though there are other ways to acquire it. If the Deep Stone Crypt is the rotator raid that week (as in it offers a pinnacle on first completion), you can farm the final encounter as much as you want for Commemoration rolls. This can also be used to get the Eyes of Tomorrow rocket launcher if you don't have it already.
Alternatively, you can interact with the loot cache at the end of the raid and spend 60 Spoils of Conquest to get a random roll of the Commemoration. Spoils of Conquest are acquired from completing raid encounters, at about five per encounter completion. Complete 20 raid encounters, and that's essentially a free Commemoration.
If you're looking to get a Commemoration that's good for endgame content in Destiny 2, you'll want the correct attachments and perks. These are easily the best:
The barrel and magazine choices here are all about providing improved handling, stability, and reload speed so you can tear apart hordes of orange bar enemies more consistently. Reconstruction means you can stow the weapon for a bit while you use a sniper or SMG, bring it back out, and have a huge magazine to rip into whatever you want. Meanwhile, Rampage offers a nice damage boost to let you tear apart hordes, then rip into a high-health enemy right after.
Other great perk options include Killing Tally as Perk 2, since it provides damage on every kill until the weapon is stowed or reloaded. There's also Dragonfly as your Perk 2, which creates a Void explosion on all precision kills. With a Void build, this can help proc a few effects. It all depends on preference and how you think the weapon is best used.
