"The duo you didn't know you needed. Love you @FlavorFlav," wrote the First Lady on X after meeting the Public Enemy rapper at the Summer Olympics
Flavor Flav has a fan in Dr. Jill Biden.
The Public Enemy rapper, 65, met the First Lady, 73, on June 27 at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he's sponsoring the U.S. women's water polo team, and they shared a sweet moment captured in a video shared to social media.
"These girls are my girls, they work hard," said Flav of the team after hugging Biden, receiving praise from her and greeting some of her family members in the clip, posted to X (formerly Twitter).
"They got three back-to-back gold medals. I’m just trying to cheer them on to get that No. 4," he continued of the team, which won gold medals at the 2012, 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games.
He wrote in a caption alongside the video, "I love all the support Women’s Water Polo is getting,,, ya boy is so appreciative that the First Lady came to the First Game . THANK YOU @flotus Dr. Jill Biden for all the support of you and your family."
Biden then reposted his video on the platform and wrote, "The duo you didn’t know you needed. Love you @FlavorFlav and thank you for all of your support for women’s @USAWP. Let’s go @TeamUSA!"
The meeting went down the same day as the U.S. women's water polo team's winning preliminary match against Greece, which Flav attended. He was also present — alongside Spike Lee — as the women lost a July 29 preliminary match against Spain and got on his feet to rally the crowd at one point after the U.S. team scored a late-in-the-match goal.

Flav shared a photo with the Do the Right Thing writer/director from the match to X, writing, "Thankx to my brother Spike Lee for joining me at the @usawp Women’s Water Polo game today,!!!"
The Grammy-winning rap icon previously spoke to PEOPLE about his decision to sponsor the U.S. women's water polo team, which was inspired by learning from captain Maggie Steffens that many of her teammates work multiple jobs in order to get to the Olympics.
"There's a lot of women, I'm saying that all they want is just a chance," said the father of four daughters. "And all they want to do is feel like they got a chance. So I just wanted to help out, and help give women that chance that they are looking for."
