Joey Essex may have been accused of ‘ruining’ Love Island, but it seems he could be having the last laugh.
The reality star, 34, is best known for starring on The Only Way is Essex, going on to appear on Celebrity Ex on the Beach, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and Dancing on Ice.
He was also one of the stars of this season of Love Island but was dumped alongside Jessy Potts in brutal scenes on last night’s episode.
Although there’s been discussion Joey’s decision to sign up for the reality dating series could have been ‘the worst move of his career’, he already appears to have a profitable project lined up.
It’s been reported Joey has signed up to undergo a club tour that will see him earn an impressive £250,000.
His team have ‘lined up a string of £6,000-an-hour UK dates where fans can take selfies and party with the star’.
‘Well, Joey might not have made the final, but he’ll be having the last laugh!’ a source told The Sun.
‘His team worked overtime while he was in the villa to book him for as many appearances in the coming months as possible.
‘He’s well known and doesn’t often do them nowadays, but Love Island’s introduced him to a new audience, and he’s been snapped up by venues hoping he’ll be a big draw.’
They added: ‘It’s gruelling to be out every night but the financial reward will be huge.’
This business opportunity comes after it was reported last month Joey could be facing criminal prosecution after his company failed to file accounts for the past four years.
The 33-year-old’s firm is at threat of being struck off after failing to file accounts for several years now.
With a net worth around £10 million, Joey amassed his fortune not only from his time on Towie (and associated club appearances), but also releasing hair products, perfume and clothes.
He also had a short-lived music career and his autobiography hit stands when Joey was just 23 years old.
Over the years he’s also collaborated with brands including McDonald’s, Jaffa Cakes, Batchelors Cup-a-Soup, and Volvic.
There’s also a string of reality shows he’s appeared in, with others including Splash, The Jump, Celebrity Ex on the Beach, Five Star Hotel, Celebs Go Dating (twice), MTV Cribs, Celebrity Juice, Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Win, and Celebrity MasterChef.
He also fronted his own series, Educating Joey Essex.

The Love Island final airs at 9pm on ITV2.
