Kit Harington Delivers Jon Snow's Iconic Line in Ad for “Game of Thrones” Mobile Game

The rightful heir to the Iron Throne is back

Kit Harington is tapping into his inner Jon Snow once again for a brand-new Game of Thrones mobile app!

Though the final season of the HBO fantasy drama ended in 2019, the rightful heir to the Iron Throne is back. 

On Thursday, July 25, the English actor, 37, appeared in an ad for the mobile game by Zynga.

The clip starts with Harington ditching his Westeros attire for a more modern look as he enters a low-lit bar. 

As the doors open and dramatic music begins, through a voiceover, he delivers his iconic line: “Winter is coming.”

“Welcome Mr. Harington,” a woman says as she walks up to greet him.

Looking down at her necklace, which includes brightly colored jewels with a different symbol in each, he adds, "I'm ready to forge my own destiny, compose my strategy, refine my tactics.”

“I'll solve every puzzle, overcome every challenge to defeat the deadliest threat we've ever faced — the Long Night."

Walking through the pub, Harington passes a variety of guests.

Two blonde-haired patrons sitting together seem to be a nod to the Targaryens, while an older woman whose eyes go blue before she and the room she’s sitting in freezes, seemingly referencing a White Walker.

Finally, Harington finds a seat at the bar.

While observing his surroundings, which include portraits of the game’s characters, the Golden Globe Award nominee vows to “pull together the greatest heroes of Westeros to fight for my house.”

As he plays Game of Thrones: Legends RPG, a woman takes a seat beside him, and attempts to deliver another fan-favorite line.

“You know nothing,” she says. Before she can finish the line, Harington interrupts: “Don’t do it.”

There’s an awkward silence before she blurts, “You know nothing Jon Snow!” — a line famously uttered by Ygritte (Rose Leslie) from the HBO show.

Characters who appear in the game include Rhaenyra Targaryen (played by Emma D'Arcy on House of the Dragon) and Arya Stark (played by Maisie Williams on Game of Thrones), as well as The Hound (Rory McCann), Drogon, Ghost and Ser Criston Cole (Fabian Frankel).

“The creativity and care taken to create Game of Thrones: Legends is obvious and it feels completely natural to jump back into Westeros for this game,” Harington said in a statement. 

“This is a true love letter to the fans, of whom the franchise would be nothing without, and I’m honored to pay tribute to them in this new campaign.”

The game announcement comes after Harington gave an update in April about the spinoff series centered around his character being shelved.

"Currently, it's off the table, because we all couldn't find the right story to tell that we were all excited about enough. So, we decided to lay down tools with it for the time being,” he told Screen Rant. 

GoT’s prequel series, House of the Dragon, is now streaming on MAX.
