Lady Gaga is engaged to her longtime boyfriend, entrepreneur and tech investor Michael Polansky.
The singer, 38, shared the exciting news with French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal during a memorable moment at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
In a TikTok video posted by Prime Minister Attal on Sunday, July 28, Gaga can be seen and heard introducing Polansky, 46, as ‘my fiancé’ while the trio watching the Olympic swimming trials.
The news comes after the pair sparked engagement rumours in April after she was spotted wearing a large diamond ring prompting fans to speculate.
This came at the same time as pregnancy rumours after fans thought they saw her with a baby bump while attending her sister’s wedding.
She took to TikTok to shut it down with a short video of her and the caption: ‘not pregnant- just down bad crying at the gym’ in a reference to Taylor Swift’s song Down Bad.
Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky’s love story began in 2020 when they were first spotted together at a New Year’s Eve party in Las Vegas, and have been together ever since.
The Bad Romance singer first confirmed the relationship in 2020 with a post on Instagram captioned: ‘We had so much fun in Miami. Love to all my little monsters and fans, you’re the best!’
The post gained almost three million likes and fans were quick to congratulate mother monster for finding love.
After going Instagram official, a source told Entertainment Tonight: ‘She wasn’t expecting to get so involved so quickly after her last relationship, but she started telling her friends she was completely in love with him.
‘Anyone that has spent any time with them can see the connection. They are completely smitten. Her friends haven’t seen her this happy in years. It didn’t take long for her friends to adore him too.’
She also said in an interview around the same time that she was looking forward to ‘marriage’ and kids sometime in the future.
According to Polansky’s LinkedIn, Lady Gaga’s husband-to-be studied Applied Mathematics, Computer Science at Harvard University from 2002 to 2006, soon going on to become a major entrepreneur.
In 2016, Polansky co-founded the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy which is described as an ‘active research institute hoping to ‘remove barriers, encourage collaboration and turn ideas into real-world cancer treatments’. He runs this with Facebook co-founder Sean Parker.
Polansky went on to co-found Outer Biosciences in March 2022, bringing his estimated estimated net worth up to $600million.
After Gaga and the business man became official, his ex-girlfriend and senior New York Times Opinion editor wrote an op-ed reflecting on the news.
