Lady Gaga loves two things: Paris, and ham and cheese sandwiches.

In somewhat of a full-circle moment, the Grammy-winning star has now been able to enjoy both simultaneously.

With an estimated net worth of $300,000,000 (£236million), the last place you’d probably expect the global superstar to appear is a little sandwich shop in the French capital.

But when Gaga wants a sandwich, Gaga gets one, as photos captured this weekend.

The Bad Romance hitmaker, 38, travelled over to Paris for the Olympics 2024 Opening Ceremony, where Celine Dion also performed.

Enjoying some downtime after the spectacle, the singer was papped grabbing a bit to eat at Le Petit Vendome brasserie, following her visit to the Elysee Palace to meet French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife.

Gaga – real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta – opted for a simple sandwich at the charming local spot, flexing her language skills by ordering in French.

As she did so, her security guard blocked the door, cameras flashing away outside.

Leaving the eatery, the A Star is Born actress oozed glamour, as always – donning an all-black outfit comprising an oversized blazer and high heels.

With her blonde locks scraped back into a sophisticated bun, the Haus Labs founder added a pop of colour with a bold red lip.

Following her outing, it didn’t take fans – known online as Little Monsters – long to delve into the archives and find old footage of Gaga professing her love for France.

In a 2011 interview, the pop star said she ‘adores’ Paris, as well as ham and cheese sandwiches.

Well, turns out she can have the best of both!

Sharing the throwback clip on X, a fan with the username artpopsoldier_ wrote: ‘Gaga said in 2011, « I love Paris, ham and cheese sandwiches  », and now we’re in 2024 and we saw her ordering a « sandwich jambon fromage » in Paris again’, followed by a crying emoji.

‘I immediately thought of that!! she really didn’t change’, added monsthairr, praising her for remaining down-to-earth.

Gaga’s Olympic performance has been on everyone’s minds since since Friday.

Towards the beginning of the Paris opening ceremony, she surprised viewers by singing in French the classic Mon Truc En Plumes, after emerging from pink feathered pom poms, wearing a black bodice with a detachable black and pink ruffled skirt.

Reflecting, she later penned on social media: ‘I feel so completely grateful to have been asked to open the Paris @Olympics 2024 this year.

‘I am also humbled to be asked by the Olympics organising committee to sing such a special French song – a song to honour the French people and their tremendous history of art, music, and theatre.

‘This song was sung by Zizi Jeanmaire, born in Paris a French ballerina, she famously sang Mon Truc En Plumes in 1961.

‘The title means My Thing With Feathers.’

She explained that it is ‘not the first time we’ve crossed paths’, as Jeanmaire starred in Cole Porter’s musical Anything Goes, a jazz song Gaga released with the late Tony Bennett.

The revered fashion and music icon added: ‘Although I am not a French artist, I have always felt a very special connection with French people and singing French music.

‘I wanted nothing more than to create a performance that would warm the heart of France, celebrate French art and music, and on such a momentous occasion remind everyone of one of the most magical cities on earth – Paris.’

She concluded by describing her welcome to Paris as ‘a gift [she’ll] never forget’.

Meanwhile, millions around the world were transfixed as Celine closed the ceremony in her first public performance since revealing her Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS).

The Canadian powerhouse, 56, belted out Edith Piaf’s L’Hymne A L’Amour from the middle of the Eiffel Tower, visibly emotional as applauded echoed through the city.
