Lana Condor, star of the popular Netflix movie To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, has shared a deeply emotional tribute to her late mother, who recently passed away.

The 27-year-old actress took to Instagram to express her grief and reflect on the profound impact her mother had on her life.

In a poignant post that featured a photograph of the two, Condor described the void in her life left by her mother’s absence.

‘My beautiful beautiful mama,’ she began, ‘I’m laying here thinking about everything I want to say to you, how to put into words the sheer devastation of losing you and how it has carved me out and left me lost.’

Condor’s heartfelt message delved into the everyday moments she cherished with her mother.

She wrote about the comforting illusion that her mother had merely stepped out for a brief errand: ‘I keep thinking you just went out to run a quick errand, maybe you’re grabbing that smoked salmon dip we both love and that you’ll be right back, or that you just missed my call because you didn’t have your phone on you because you preferred to be present in the moment and look up instead of down.’

She continued: ‘I want, I need, you to know that every good thing I am, is because of you,’ Condor continued.

‘You taught me how to love the world and others as if there was no such thing as hate. You taught me to always trust my gut and run fiercely with my instincts. You taught me empathy, in a world that needs much more of it.’

Condor’s tribute emphasized her mother’s lasting influence, describing her as a beacon of unconditional kindness and compassion: ‘You showed me what unconditional kindness and compassion is, and that both should always be our first choice.’

Reflecting on the vibrant life her mother led, Condor noted: ‘You infused our world with so much joy and warmth and color.’

Despite the brevity of time since her mother’s passing, Condor expressed a timeless sense of loss: ‘It’s only been a few days since I lost you, but I miss you like you’ve been gone for way longer and also like you just left.’

Her message concluded with a hopeful note, envisioning her mother free and curious in the afterlife: ‘I hope you are running in the wind, and have all the answers to your everlasting curiosity. I miss you with my whole soul. I used to say, “I love you more than you could possibly ever know” I hope now, wherever you are, that you know. ‘

She concluded the message: ‘You found me first, and I pray with everything that I am, that you’ll find me again. I love you endlessly. Love, Lanzie.’

Condor’s journey to stardom began far from Hollywood. Born in Vietnam, she was adopted as a child and raised in Illinois, where she nurtured her passions for contemporary dance and classical ballet.

Her acting career took off with a breakthrough role in the 2016 superhero film X-Men: Apocalypse.

However, it was her role as Lara Jean Covey in To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before that catapulted her to international fame.
