There will be plenty of jumping around on an off the track this week with Glorious Goodwood and the Rebellion punk festival in Blackpool.

Tipster’s good mate Max and his band Splodgenessabounds will be performing songs from their new album Standing On The Shoulders of Dwarves at the Winter Gardens and after building up a thirst leaping about to the music fans can sink more than Two Pints of Lager afterwards if they back the fittingly named Pogo at 25/1 with bet365 in the Lennox Stakes on the opening day’s card on the South Downs.

Charles Hills’ runner was in close contention to race favourite Noble Dynasty in the Group Three Criterion Stakes at Newmarket last time out and has valuable experience on the demanding Sussex track, finishing third when beaten by just a neck and a short head in the same race a couple of years ago.

Pogo finished last year strongly with a creditable fourth in the Group One Prix de La Floret at Longchamp in a supporting race to the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and despite being the oldest horse in the race the eight-year-old can still cut it with the youngsters, just like those ageing punks in Blackpool.

Lord Riddiford, owned by The Jam Partnership, will also attempt to repel the challenges of young pretenders as he bids to win the Coral Racing Club Handicap for a fourth straight year.

But Fair Wind, who ran in strongly to win at Ascot last time out, can swipe away his crown at 7/2 with William Hill.

Tony Montana’s chances are not to be sniffed at in the opening race of the meeting, the Chesterfield Cup. Two wins in May were followed by a third last time out at York just over two lengths behind winner Enfjaar when finishing with a right old rattle. Our selection is much better off at the weights this time and can reverse positions at 14/1 with Hills and bet365.

Aidan O’Brien always enjoys his trip to the beautiful Sussex countryside and is sure to enjoy a big week. The Parthenon is his only entry in the Vintage Stakes and Ryan Moore can guide the neat winner at Gowran Park last month to another victory at 7/2 with Coral. I Maximus must not be ignored if running in the Maiden Stakes.

• For every fairytale story at the Olympics there’s a nightmare unfolding for another competitor. British No.1 Jack Draper can ruin Taylor Fritz’s dream of winning a medal by beating the American at Roland Garros at 2/1 with bet365.

• Japan are 9/10 with BetMGM and BetUK to beat Israel in the men’s football at the Olympics.
