SC refuses to stay HC order quashing Bihar's quota law

The Supreme Court refused to halt the Patna High Court's decision nullifying the increase in reservation for backward classes, SCs, and STs from 50% to 65% in Bihar. The Bihar government's amendment was deemed unconstitutional for breaching the 50% reservation cap and violating equality principles. The case will be heard in September.
