Team USA Swimmers Earn 4 More Medals in Third Night of Swimming Finals at the Paris Olympics

Team USA added another four medals thanks to the swimmers

Team USA continues to make a splash in Paris!

In one race after the other on Monday, July 29, the American swimmers were victorious at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

First, Katie Grimes raced her way to a silver, while Emma Weyant won a bronze in the women's 400-meter medley.

Then, Luke Hobson swam a strong men's 200-meter freestyle, nabbing another bronze for team USA. Ryan Murphy secured Team USA's third bronze on Monday in the 100-meter backstroke.

Grimes was only 15 when she competed in Tokyo, and was the youngest Olympian on Team USA. The closest she got to the podium that Games was for the 800-meter freestyle, in which she finished fourth. Weyant, meanwhile, won silver in Tokyo for the same 400-meter medley.

Hobson is a first-time medalist with his bronze, falling only behind the U.K.'s Matthew Richards and Romanian swimmer David Popovici in their race Monday.

And Murphy's win marks his third-consecutive Games medaling in the 100-meter backstroke, an event in which he still holds the Olympic record.

Team USA's swimmers have now racked up 11 medals — two gold, four silver and five bronze — in Paris in just three days of competition. Swimming events continue through Aug. 4, with medal races every day.
