Today at San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon would be renewed for a third season at AMC.

This news comes just two months ahead of the start of season 2, The Book of Carol, which debuts on September 29.

The Book of Carol follows both Norman Reedus as Daryl and Melissa McBride as Carol after the pair split up, with Daryl in France and Carol searching for him in America. As reported by Variety, the third season will see the two characters reunited and struggling to find their way home together, with both actors reprising their roles.

Season three will be produced and set not in France or America, but in Spain, with location shooting planned in the Galicia, Aragon, Catalonia, and Valencia regions. McBride said in a statement that filming for the third season would start "in just a few weeks."

We gave season one of Daryl Dixon a 7/10 in our review, calling it "an enjoyable rehabilitation of the Daryl character, taking him on a hero's journey through France that allows him to open up, enjoy life, be a badass, and genuinely change his zompocalypse footing."
