The rising country star called working with Tiësto "the most invigorating opportunity"

Alana Springsteen and Tiësto are heating up the summer with their brand new single!

On Thursday, July 24, the rising country star, 23, and the Grammy winning DJ, 55, teamed up to release the music video to their first official collaboration, “Hot Honey.”

The clip begins with Tiësto making a cameo while driving a drop-top car into the sunset. Once he reaches his destination, he stands beside the vehicle as a bonfire burns.

Next, Tiësto picks up a lighter. As the flames flicker, the screen cuts back and forth between him and Springsteen both holding the device before he discards it and walks away.

Enter the Virginia Beach native setting the tone for a sultry music video — which features her wearing a fiery red one-piece while singing and rolling in the silk sheets of a bed suspended over a circle of fire.

In a statement, Springsteen opened up on working with the famed Dutch DJ and music producer.

“How often do you get the chance to collaborate with one of the most iconic DJs of all time? When Tiësto reached out to see if I’d want to get creative with him on ‘Hot Honey,’ I saw it as the most invigorating opportunity,” Springsteen said.

The “ghost in my guitar” songstress continued, “I’ve always loved exploring sonically and being able to do that with dance music while staying true to my Country roots – that's what excites me about being an artist and songwriter.”

Springsteen added that she was “honored” that Tiësto “trusted me with this song, and I can't wait to sing it live at one of his insane shows!”

The “CONTIGO” hitmaker was also more than happy to explore a new sound for them both.

“I’ve always been drawn to fun/party side and the authenticity of country music, so when I had the opportunity to team up with Alana Springsteen to make a country dance song, I was super excited!” he said.

“Alana has an incredible voice, which is precisely the texture this song needed, and I respect her abilities as a songwriter as well as her artistry. This is a different sound for me but as you know by now, I like to explore and am inspired by all different genres when making dance music! I hope you enjoy this song as much as we did creating it,” Tiësto continued.

The DJ will next explore "the eras of his career" with Prismatic, a four-hour DJ set that Tiësto plans to perform twice — first in New York City in October and again in Colorado in November. In the meantime, he will play shows at various festivals, as well as his Las Vegas sets.

In December 2023, Springsteen spoke to PEOPLE about her musical influences, saying attending a Taylor Swift concert when she was just 9 years old changed the trajectory of her life.

“I definitely wouldn’t be the songwriter, the artist that I am without Taylor,” she added.

Springsteen’s debut album, TWENTY SOMETHING, is currently available as a three-part album and extended deluxe edition. She's on the road this summer as well, opening for both Luke Bryan and Tyler Hubbard.
